Three phase solid state relay categories
Lorentzzi® three-phase solid state relays (SSRs) use components from world-renowned brands to ensure superior quality throughout their service life. They are commonly used as three-phase switches in a variety of applications, such as three-phase motors and three-phase heaters. Our three-phase solid state relays are available in two types: DC controlled AC relays and AC controlled AC relays.

DC control AC 3 phase SSR
Here “DC” means the control voltage is 3-32 VDC, “AC” means the load voltage is three-phase 24-480 VAC, our model of this type of SSR is TSR-(current)DA. Our best-selling products are TSR-10DA, TSR-40DA, TSR-60DA, etc.

AC control AC 3 Phase SSR
The “AC” here means the control voltage is 70-280 VAC, and the other “AC” means the load voltage is three-phase 24-480 VAC. The model of this type of SSR is TSR-(current)AA. Our best-selling products are TSR-10AA, TSR-40AA, TSR-60AA, TSR-120AA, etc.

Frequently asked questions
What is a three-phase solid-state relay, its working principle and its application?
Three phase solid state relay is mainly used to control three phase heaters or other three phase devices such as three phase motor, three phase , it is much like a 3PST switch but without physical structures. For more knowledge, have a look at our blog: 3 Phase Solid State Relay: Working Principle, Advantages And Applications.
How to choose a three phase solid state relay for your load?
When choosing the right three phase solid state relay, it is important to consider factors such as the load type and load power rating. For a more detailed guide, we recommend checking out our blog: The Ultimate Guide To Choosing A Solid State Relay or contact us for professional advice.
Do I need a heat radiator for my three phase SSR?
Yes, the three-phase solid state relay must be equipped with a heat radiator, because when the load is connected to the solid state relay, a voltage drop will occur, and according to Joule’s law, the greater the current, the more heat will be generated, so please contact us to select a suitable heat radiator.
How to wire a three phase solid state relay?
For detailed instructions on how to wire a solid state relay, we recommend reading our blog titled How To Wire A Solid State Relay.
Can I replace the three phase solid state relay with a three phase AC contactor in a temperature control system?
When working with special applications that require high-frequency switching, such as PID temperature control systems, if your three-phase solid-state relay (SSR) is damaged, it is crucial to replace it with another SSR rather than switching to an AC contactor.
For other applications where switching frequency is relatively low, such as lighting control, low-speed motor operation, or basic power distribution, an AC contactor is a suitable alternative.
Is a three phase SSR better than a three phase thyristor power controller?
It depends on the specific situation. The three-phase SSR used in the temperature control system uses on/off to control the heater, while the thyristor power controller controls the heating tube by controlling the output voltage, and can control the output mode to constant voltage, constant current, constant power, etc., so the temperature control accuracy is higher.
Another point to consider is that if the load current is the same, the three-phase SSR is cheaper than the three-phase thyristor controller.
Why is our three phase SSR better than other suppliers?
Our three-phase SSR is made of Onsemi optocoupler, with RC snubber circuit inside. The protective cover, shell and bottom plate are very thick. In addition, the interior is covered with high-quality epoxy resin. The net weight of each product is 380 grams.
Can I use a PID temperature controller to control a three phase heater via a three phase SSR?
You are right, the three phase SSR is always used with a PID temperature controller, a temperature sensor and other accessories to control a heater.
