SCR Power Regulator

1. What is a SCR power controller?

The SCR power controller or SCR power regulator is a device which uses Silicon Controlled Rectifiers(SCR) to control the output voltage or current then realize the controlling of the output power.

Its working principle is to receive control signal input and control the SCR module in the main circuit to change the on and off of the voltage.

Our SCR power controller control signal can be analog signals, such as 4-20mA, 1-5VDC, 0-5VDC, 0-10VDC or manual potentiometer. The maximum output current can reach 1200 amps. Single phase or three phase SCR power controllers are available.

2. Applications and types of SCR power controller

A typical application of SCR power controllers is the temperature control of heater. Since heaters can be used in many equipment, such as blow molding machines, annealing furnaces, plastic injection machines, thus, SCR power controllers can also be used in these machines.

According to our classification method, SCR power regulators are divided into single-phase and three-phase. Single-phase is used to control small or household heaters, while three-phase is mainly used for heaters with larger rated power.

3. How to use a SCR power controller?

As mentioned above, this device can be controlled by an analog signal, so in order to accurately control the temperature, the SCR power controller needs to use a pid temperature controller with a 4-20mA or 0-10VDC output.

In addition to the external PID temperature control method, our SCR power controller can also have a built-in temperature function, so one controller can achieve precise temperature control.

4. Prices of SCR power controllers

We can provide two kinds of SCR power regulators, one is the economical one which price is below USD 50.0 to USD 500.0, another is our more functional one, these SCR power controllers prices are around USD 1000.0 to USD 2000.0.
