Introduction:

  • Lorentzzi® M18 photoelectric sensor is available in three types: diffuse, retro-reflective, and through-beam. The maximum detection distances are 30 cm, 2 meters, and 5 meters, respectively.

  • The one will be introducing here is a diffuse proximity sensor switch with a diameter of 18 mm thread size that uses 660 nm infrared light to detect the presence of any object, whether it is metallic or non-metallic.
  • The output can be selected in three modes: solid-state NPN normally open (NO), solid-state PNP normally open (NO), or two-wire normally open (2-wire NO), corresponding to the models G18-3A30NA (or E3F-DS30C4), G18-3A30PA (or E3F-DS30P1), and G18-3A30LA (or E3F-DS30Y1), respectively. Alternatively, the output can also be selected in normally closed (NC) mode.
  • The knob at the rear of the photoelectric sensor allows for adjustment of the detection distance, ranging from 10.0 cm to a maximum of 30.0 cm.
  • This M18 diffuse photoelectric sensor uses Light-on to detect objects. “Light-on” means that the receiver needs to receive light from the transmitter before it can activate the output.
  • Default working voltage is 6-36VDC, other voltages can be customized as well.
  • Two housing materials are available: ABS plastic or nickel-plated brass.
  • Note: This M18 photoelectric sensor should be used in a clean environment, away from dust and oil, and requires regular maintenance.

Wiring Diagram

Wiring diagrams for our M18 photoelectric sensor switches can be categorized into three types based on their output configuration: two-wire wiring diagrams (sensor, load, and power supply connected in series), three-wire proximity sensor wiring diagrams (NPN or PNP, output is normally open (NO) or normally closed (NC)), and four-wire wiring diagrams (NPN or PNP, output is normally open (NO) and normally closed (NC)).
