Pulse Counter

1.What Is A Pulse Counter?

A pulse counter is an instrument used to count the number of pulses in a given period of time. It can count pulses from either the rising or falling edge of the pulse. Our pulse counters can be used to count voltage pulses, voltage-free pulses (e.g. button presses, micro switch closures, etc.) or transistor output pulses.

2.How Many Types Of Pulse Counters We Provide?

According to the different working modes, pulse counters can be divided into mechanical pulse counters and digital pulse counters.

Mechanical pulse counters use a roller to indicate the number of pulses, while digital pulse counters use an LCD display or LED tube to display the number. We can provide both types of them, our typical mechanical counters are CSK6-YKW 6 digits counter, CSK4-YKW 4 digits counter etc, our typical digital counter is H7EC-N 7 Digits No Input Voltage Counter, JDM11-6H counter etc.

In addition, we can also provide preset counter relays such as JDM9-6 preset counter relay, DH48J preset counter relay, ZN48 Preset Counter
etc, which are used to perform certain actions when the count number reaches the preset value.

3.How to Use a Pulse Counter

Different counters have different operation modes, generally speaking, our pulse counter needs to be used with a proximity sensor, no matter the type of proximity sensor is inductive, capacitive or photoelectric. When the object is within the sensing range of the sensor, the pulse counter will record one time, or you can use this pulse counter with a switch to count the number of presses.

4.How Pulse Counters Work

Pulse counters work by taking an input signal and counting the number of transitions from one state to another within a specified time. They can be set to count up or down depending on the application.

5.Pulse counter Applications

Pulse counters can be used to count production, batches, etc., and preset counting relays can perform actions such as sounding an alarm, cutting off power, sending completion signals to other devices, etc. after reaching a specified number.

In terms of specific applications, pulse counters can be used in game consoles to count coins, lightning rod counting devices, etc.
