An on/off temperature controller is an instrument that controls temperature by fully turning on or off heating elements, air compressors, etc.

The on/off temperature controller operates on a simple and reliable threshold triggering principle, relying on a temperature sensor to monitor the temperature of the target object in real time.

It achieves coarse temperature control by comparing the measured value with the set value. When the temperature sensor detects that the actual temperature is lower than the set value, the controller outputs a signal to fully turn on the heating/cooling device (such as a heating element or compressor).

When the target temperature rises and exceeds the set value plus the temperature difference, the on/off temperature controller cuts off the signal and shuts down the device completely.

This type of on/off temperature controller is suitable for applications where high temperature control precision is not required, such as deep fryers, toasters, freezers, refrigerators, and air conditioners.

While it cannot achieve precise temperature control, it helps extend the lifespan of air conditioner, freezer, and refrigerator compressors because precise temperature control requires frequent start-stop cycles, which is very detrimental to compressor lifespan.
