Ambos os tipos se baseiam nas caracter\u00edsticas de comuta\u00e7\u00e3o dos transistores para obter a sa\u00edda de sinal, mas diferem na forma como os circuitos s\u00e3o conectados.<\/span><\/p><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">A chave interna do sensor de proximidade NPN \u00e9 conectada entre o terminal de sinal e o polo negativo. Quando nada est\u00e1 se aproximando, o transistor NPN n\u00e3o funciona e a tens\u00e3o de sa\u00edda \u00e9 alta; quando algo se aproxima, o transistor come\u00e7a a funcionar e a tens\u00e3o de sa\u00edda se torna baixa. Portanto, se quiser que o dispositivo comece a funcionar quando algo estiver se aproximando, ser\u00e1 necess\u00e1rio conectar o dispositivo entre o terminal de sa\u00edda do sensor e o polo positivo da fonte de alimenta\u00e7\u00e3o.<\/span><\/p><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Por outro lado, a chave interna da chave de proximidade PNP \u00e9 conectada entre a extremidade do sinal e o polo positivo da fonte de alimenta\u00e7\u00e3o. Quando n\u00e3o h\u00e1 sinal, a linha de sa\u00edda de sinal OUT e o polo positivo do VCC da fonte de alimenta\u00e7\u00e3o s\u00e3o desconectados, o que equivale \u00e0 extremidade de sa\u00edda n\u00e3o estar conectada a nada; quando h\u00e1 um sinal, a linha de sa\u00edda OUT e o polo positivo do VCC da fonte de alimenta\u00e7\u00e3o s\u00e3o conectados juntos, e a tens\u00e3o de sa\u00edda \u00e9 de n\u00edvel alto.
