Par cons\u00e9quent, le fonctionnement d'un capteur passe par 4 \u00e9tapes, voir les 4 \u00e9tapes ci-dessous :<\/p><ol><li><strong>Oscillateur<\/strong>: L'oscillateur g\u00e9n\u00e8re un champ magn\u00e9tique alternatif en faisant passer un courant alternatif dans la bobine de d\u00e9tection. Ce champ magn\u00e9tique s'\u00e9tend au-del\u00e0 de la face du capteur et dans le milieu environnant.<\/li><li><strong>D\u00e9tection<\/strong>: Lorsqu'un objet m\u00e9tallique entre dans le champ de d\u00e9tection du capteur, le champ magn\u00e9tique induit <a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Eddy_current\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">courants de Foucault<\/span><\/a> dans l'objet. Ces courants de Foucault g\u00e9n\u00e8rent un champ magn\u00e9tique secondaire qui s'oppose au champ magn\u00e9tique initial produit par le capteur.<\/li><li><strong>Traitement des signaux<\/strong>: L'interaction entre les deux champs magn\u00e9tiques entra\u00eene une modification de l'amplitude ou de la fr\u00e9quence de l'oscillateur. Le circuit de traitement des signaux du capteur d\u00e9tecte ce changement et produit un signal de sortie, g\u00e9n\u00e9ralement sous la forme d'une variation de tension ou de courant.<\/li><li><strong>Sortie<\/strong>: Le signal de sortie passe par les deux m\u00eames fils que ceux qui alimentent le capteur, ce qui en fait un syst\u00e8me \u00e0 deux fils. Le signal de sortie peut \u00eatre trait\u00e9 par des dispositifs externes, tels que des automates programmables, afin de prendre des d\u00e9cisions bas\u00e9es sur la pr\u00e9sence ou l'absence de
