industriel, le codeur peut \u00eatre situ\u00e9 loin du dispositif de contr\u00f4le ou de l'\u00e9quipement qui lit son signal. Sur de longues distances, le signal de sortie du codeur peut s'affaiblir ou \u00eatre alt\u00e9r\u00e9 par le bruit \u00e9lectrique. Il s'agit g\u00e9n\u00e9ralement de convertir le signal en format diff\u00e9rentiel, o\u00f9 les deux lignes transportent des signaux compl\u00e9mentaires. Dans cette m\u00e9thode, le signal est transmis sur deux fils : l'un porte le signal r\u00e9el et l'autre son signal inverse.
